Cell Grown Native Hedging
-
We can now offer a range of cell grown hedging plants as an alternative to bare root hedging.
Cell grown hedging has the advantage that is has spent all its life in a cell type container with all its nutrients ensuring the plant gets off to a good start. You can start planting them in early September right through until early May.
When you compare this to the bare root season which runs from November through to the end of March you will see the advantage of using cell grown hedging. The correct way of planting them is to dig a small hole, place the plant in, making sure that the top of the plug is at least 20mm below the surrounding ground, and cover with soil, this will prevent drying out of the root.
