Urban Splash Build – Langworthy Regeneration Project, Salford
This is one of our current projects that we were delighted to have won the Tender for. It entails
the supply of plants, and also planting them, at this unique development. It is an inner city
regeneration of old terraced properties.
The front has been kept the same as when it was built, but thereafter it is modernistic and
minimalistic living. The planting consists of a living bamboo screen, a herbal walkway, trailing
ivy planters for screening the end walls and a circular imitation spiral stairway planted with Vinca’s.

Wold View Fisheries
This is another interesting project that we were fortunate to win. It was a 44 acre field
that the owner transformed into six separate fishing lakes of different sizes. Our
assignment was to transform it into a more wooded area that blended in with the surrounding
landscape, as it is just on the edge of the famous Lincolnshire Wolds.
Our materials had to be natural and native to the English countryside. We used a
combination of Birch, Rowan, Hornbeam, Ash and Sycamore types, to name a few. There is a
considerable number of wet areas that were to be left as wet conservation areas to encourage
wildlife. Here we were limited to Willow and Alnus types.
Already our client has got numerous amounts of wildlife onto the site that were not
there before the start of the project.

Grimsby Golf Club
This was a great project to be involved with as one of our passions is the game of golf! We
had to come up with a species of tree, a minimum of 8m-9m high to plant in front of the
10th tee box. The reason for this was to try and stop the members from hitting their balls
into private properties adjacent to the course.
Having looked at the large mature trees on the right hand side of the 10th fairway we decided
to plant the same type of tree, namely Tilia cordata Pallida (a type of small leaf lime) and
this does seem to have done the trick.
In addition we also planted a line of Fraxinus excelsior (Ash) 12-14cm adjacent to the out of
bounds area, which in time will give added protection to the private properties.
Low Road Nurseries
A very unusual project with a very topical theme – the no smoking ban in public houses!
Our client asked us to try and locate a large quantity of Prunus lusitanica
Augustifolia, the upright Portugal Laurel.
Through one of our many suppliers we managed to find enough for our client to complete
his contract. These were a mixture of rootball and pot grown plants at a height
of 150-175cm and 175-200cm. This project is ongoing.
